2008 Knox County PTA Student Awards Celebration

Courtney and Kayla both received awards this year at the Knox County Council PTA Student Awards Celebration. The girls both received medals for their reflection contest entries in the dance choreography category. Kayla won 1st place in the primary school division and Courtney won 2nd place in the intermediate school division. The banquet was held in the grand ballroom at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center. The awards were given out by Nancy Meyer, Knox County PTA President and Bill Williams, WBIR news anchor man. It was a great night. We were so proud of all the Karns Elementary students!

Kayla is Special Person in 2nd Grade!

Kayla was special person in Ms. Kelley's 2nd grade class. She got to take in pictures and special toys to share with the class. Kayla also could bring in a special guest and special snack. Kayla wanted Nana to come and cater an ice cream party. Nana came (with her apron on) and made the whole class yummy sundaes. Since Karns Elementary has such strict food rules, Nana had to bring frozen yogurt and sugar free toppings. Nana brought all kinds of fresh fruit to put on the yogurt as well. It was a lot of fun! Kayla definitely felt special!
